STATEMENT OF ARTIST PRACTICE

I create analog collages and collage gifs. I cut out all the pieces from various magazines, brochures, and leaflets. I love to make paper characters, composed of many independent elements.

ARTIST BIO

Bogna Warszawa is a self-educated video editor and motion designer. She is also a collage artist. She started her professional career by participating in documentary workshops, which became a long-term inspiring adventure lasting until today. For a few years, she made mobile reports and short documentary movies on cultural and social topics implemented as part of the “Miasta w Komie” project. Her mobile documentary report Hemp Liberation March received the first prize in the review of movies about Warsaw Take a look at Warsaw. Later, a related passion appeared with collage and stop-motion animation, which led her to learn motion design. Her stop-motion animation for the song Awa’N Garda (lyrics, music: SinSen&Oz) was nominated for an award in the animation category at the YACH FILM 2015 – 23rd Polish Music Video Festival and won the 1st prize at the 3rd National Festival of Polish Animation O!PLA 2015 (animated video category). Her second stop-motion animation for the song Ile jeszcze w Tobie jest sił? (lyrics, music: Junior Stress) was nominated for an award in the animated video clip category at the 4th National Festival Polish Animation O!PLA 2016.
